Earlier today, it was reported that a car was swept away by the flood and three of its four occupants were rescued alive (read  here ). A video showing the road divided into two as a result of the flood has now been shared online. In the clip, cars are seen trying to avoid the gaping opening along the centre of the streets. One car had a lucky escape as some parts of the road broke off just after it passed. The incident happened yesterday at Mgbemena Street in Awada, Onitsha, Anambra State. The area where this happened is a residential area with houses lining the streets and with the way the opening in the middle of the street keeps widening, it is clear the occupants of the houses are at risk. Homicide detectives from the State Criminal Investigation And Intelligence Department (SCIID), Panti Yaba,  assigned to investigate the multi fatal motor accident that occurred on 28/06/2018, along Lagos/Ibadan expressway by Otedola bridge, inward Ibadan, have arrested the truck owner, by name,  Hassan Yusuf Maiwake, male. The truck with registration number NSR 888 YQ, driven by a yet to be identified suspect, laden with petroleum product, lost control, spilling its content and went up in flame, burning 56 vehicles and killing 9 unidentified persons. Meanwhile, the owner of the truck, Hassan Maikwe of No.16 Hotoro Limawa, Kano state, was arrested yesterday, 26/07/2018, in Kano and he is now helping the police in its effort to locate the driver of the ill-fated truck. The CP assures that the Command will do all it can to help families who lost their beloved ones in the accident, find a closure by ensuring that anyone found culpable is brought to book.  D...

A Nigerian mother is crying out after her father-in-law raped all three of her daughters she left in his care. The devastated mother said she decided to leave her daughters, aged 5, 7, and 9, with their grandfather since holiday lessons haven't started yet. But she came home from work to see them all crying. When she asked what was wrong, they told her "grandpa was climbing them one by one". The children were taken to the hospital where doctors revealed that her eldest daughter may never be able to have kids because her reproductive organs have been damaged. It was also revealed that the grandfather was almost killed by his son - the children's father - when he found out what he had done. The randy old man has now been locked up in jail. A screenshot of the mother's SOS message was shared by activist Esther Ijiwere, who is now warning mothers not to trust anyone at all with their kids.

Former Cross Rivers state governor and presidential hopeful, Donald Duke, was on Linda Ikeji TV's programme, Report Card hosted by Hero Daniels.  During the interview, Duke who made known his intention to run for president in June, said he doubts he would be the presidential flag bearer of the PDP in the 2019 election. ''I doubt that I will be the flagbearer of PDP'' he said He however stated that he will run and be in the ballot paper during the election.
